"In a Nutshell"
After Peace Corps in South Korea, Don headed west across the Asian continent through the Khyber Pass and Afghanistan on his way to Europe and back home. Having an affinity for the beautiful city of Seattle, he traveled there and established a residence on Queen Anne hill. Utililizing his background in Architecture and the construction trades, he began a company that bought old homes and remodeled them for future sale. The company also purchased land for multi family developement in the West Seattle area.
On returning to his native Washington, he realized there was a need in the Bethesda, Rockville area for a custom kitchen showroom that offered fine cabinetry at a better value. And so, Kitchen TechniQ, Inc. was born in 1988 at the current location on Nebel Street in Rockville, Md. Even today, Don loves to discover those fine cabinet manufacturers that offer exceptional value so he can stay true to his original goal.
Don and his wife, Leslie , his two daughters, Leah Shayne and Danielle Maya, (and his two cats, Sugar and Oreo), live in the urban revival community of Lakelands. When not playing golf or tennis, he is running his daughters to the next soccer game or watching the Nationals and Redskins every chance he gets.

Why We Do What We Do
All of us have heard it said that if you love what you do then you will be successful at it. And we all know it isn't easy finding a profession that one really enjoys. We are one of the lucky ones . . . . We have found it.
We truly enjoy helping our clients solve their space problems in their homes . It makes us feel good. And it makes our clients feel good to see us so passionate about our work. It's a win win!
Our business is built on the strength of our relationship with each and every client.
Truly, the best solutions are born from listening well to our clients personal vision of their space.
And then, the combination of that vision and our imagination, produces a unique result, a space that makes you feel so good, you wouldn't change a single thing!
We think you wouldn't want it any other way!
